Falvey Real Estate Group - Tuesday, January 05, 2016

Congratulations! The seller of the home you love has accepted your offer! The road to owning a home has been a long one, and you’re almost done. However, it’s not over quite yet…

Now comes the fun part: Preparing for the Closing Process!

After your offer has been accepted and you’ve signed the offer-to-purchase contract and other appropriate paperwork, there are many steps that need to be taken before the official closing date. The checklist below has some key steps to take. Be sure to contact your Realtor with any questions or concerns you may have.

Before closing, the following must be completed:

  1. Perform a title search
  2. Have the home inspection completed
  3. Have the home appraised
  4. Finalize financing agreement, if applicable
  5. Secure home insurance
  6. Secure title insurance
  7. Do a final walkthrough

When all of the items on this list are completed and taken care of, you’re ready to close and one step closer to owning your new home!
